Tim Jacobs

a practitioner's argument

Geometric reasoning became my lens because the problem I kept meeting — in physics, in non-Von Neumann coordinate systems, and later in federated authority networks — was always the same problem in a new register: how do local pieces fit into a global whole without contradiction?

The route in was through mathematics and physics — specifically, the coordinate-system problem that any working non-Von Neumann representation has to solve before any physics can begin. Coordinates are a promise: pieces of a space that must transition into each other without breaking the object. When the promise fails, the physics doesn't merely become harder; the object stops being the thing you claimed to describe.

That structural insistence carried into a decade of work on federated knowledge structures — systems where independent authorities each hold local claims, and the correctness of the whole depends on whether their pieces glue. It is the same problem. It is always the same problem.

A single throughline connecting non-Von Neumann coordinate systems, federated knowledge structures, and geometric intelligence. non-Von Neumann coordinate systems federated knowledge structure geometric intelligence preserve structure ➔ under transformation ➔

The applied form of this work lives at geometricintelligence.ai — a reasoning system built from the ground up on evidence, relationships, and preservation under transformation. This site is the paradigm case; that one is the working proof.

The essays here are meant to be readable on their own, without the product, and to hold up as arguments. Any that don't should be corrected. Structural criticism is welcome and, in a very real sense, is the whole point.
